Teresa has worked as an ecologist for over 30 years. Her background covers education, field survey, nature conservation, development planning and team management with experience in the public sector, charitable organisations and consultancy.

Teresa started in environmental education, teaching marine ecology, with the Field Studies Council. She went on to carry out coastal and marine surveys, running the Coastwatch project and working on the Marine Nature Conservation Review of Great Britain with the Nature Conservancy Council and Joint Nature Conservation Committee. Moving to a Conservation Officer role in English Nature, she specialised in development planning including application of nature conservation legislation such as the Habitats Regulations, Environmental Impact Assessment and Sustainable Development. She was also engaged in partnership working on Biodiversity Action Plans, Estuary Management Plans and Shoreline Management Plans.
Teresa has extensive experience of project, team and staff management. This has included staff recruitment and appraisal, work planning, training and workshop facilitation. As a Team Manager with English Nature, she was responsible for strategic planning, reporting and resource management. In her role as Transition Manager with Natural England she facilitated a training programme for south-east regional staff.
Throughout her career, Teresa has worked with people to further knowledge and understanding of our environment and to promote the conservation of natural resources. This has included managing, inspiring and motivating people to reveal their talents and develop their skills.
Her wealth of experience has been applied in a variety of ways to the natural environment and biodiversity and in the management of staff and teams.
Teresa is a Director and Trustee of the Kent and Medway Biological Records Centre.
Teresa is an approved Chartered Institute of Environmental Health trainer for the Level 2 Award in Environmental Principles and Best Practice.
